And here we are again… Christmas is over, another year is about to start.
End of festivities.
Some people are happy to finally finish this December season.
Personally, I am not. Once again, it went too quickly and I always feel a little bit sad when it comes to an end.
But it’s a good sign, isn’t it? After all, it just means that the fun and happiness were there, so all good!
Oh yes, it was fun.
And kids make it even more special, that for sure. 3 is really a great age. Slo was 200% into it this year and that was awesome. Ok, I may be a tiny bit responsible of her crazy excitement, but who cares? What counts the most is that my little girl has spent an amazing time and was the happiest child in the world.
So… what did we do to make our Christmas a bit more magical?
Hmmm… nothing exceptional really but it definitely worked a treat. Let’s see…
- We had fun with the Elf on the Shelf from the 1st to the 25th December.

- We over decorated our house.

- We wrote a letter to Santa, gave it to our Elf Lulu so that he could bring it to the Big Man (Lulu was going back to the North Pole every night to help Santa with the presents) and we received a very nice answer in return (written by Mummy herself, ie me for a more personalised mail).

- We downloaded the application “Portable North Pole” and Santa sent us a personalised video where he talked directly to Slo. 100% success, she loved it and watched it approximately a million times (I’m barely exaggerating).

- We took the traditional photo with Santa (yay, no cry this year!)
- Of course, we didn’t forget to leave some milk and cookies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeers before going to bed. In the morning, we noticed that Santa had left crumbs in the plate, an empty glass and there were half-eaten carrots on our balcony.

- We sprinkled some reindeer food (mix of oats and glitters) on our balcony before going to bed. The glitters were supposed to help Santa to find his way more easily in the dark.

- We grew some candy canes: on Christmas Eve, we planted some candy canes seeds (red and green Tic Tacs) in some sugar, and the next day we had obtained some candy canes.

- We opened a Christmas box on Christmas Eve, especially prepared for the evening. Inside, there was a Christmas movie, some new pyjamas, a Christmas book, some reindeer food, a candle, candy cane seeds, lollies.

- Santa had left his footprints outside our house (white chalk and flour sprinkled on top of the footprint drawings). His sleigh had also left marks, as well as the reindeers.

Nothing exceptional then, but special enough to make this time completely magical for my child. And that’s what counts the most.
Bye bye Christmas, see you next year...
